Everything you need to know in life you learn in Kindergarten!

It has been a very busy summer for the Mecham Family! And we have lots of blog posts to add later (post-dated of course).

But today was an extremely important day for Braxten: it was his first day of Kindergarten at Glen Oaks Elementary!! We have been preparing for this day for weeks, especially Mommy. We attended Kindergarten Round Up earlier this summer, then went to meet the teach day last week, and then met class mates this past weekend for popsicles in the playground. But it all started today and Braxten was so excited!

His teacher is Miss Angela Timbes and she won teach of the year last year! Could we be more excited for Mr. B? He has 22 students in his glass and lots to learn this school year. We are confident it will be a great start to his time there!!

Mommy handled the whole thing fairly well, considering this was such a big step for our little guy. We could not wait to pick him up and hear all about it!! Of course, 5 year old boys won’t divulge much though. But we did learn that he was well behaved, liked his class, had fun with Jordan, and ate a good (and healthy) hot lunch – his first time being so independent!

It will be a big change on the home front, what with no naps and all. But we are ready for all that school life has in store for Braxten.
